What this policy covers
This Privacy Policy explains how Prevolut Ltd ("Prevolut", "we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with Unhexify, our macOS menu bar utility, and the Unhexify pages on prevolut.uk.
Unhexify is designed as a local utility. The core decoding function operates on your Mac and does not require an account or a remote decoding service.
This policy is written for the current version of Unhexify. If a future version introduces a feature that materially changes how personal data is handled, we will update this policy before or when that feature is introduced.
What Unhexify does not collect
In its core operation, Unhexify does not require you to create an account, provide your name or email address, or send clipboard contents to Prevolut.
We do not use the clipboard contents you decode to build a profile about you, sell information to advertisers, or train a remote model.
How clipboard access works
Unhexify reads the current clipboard value when you use the utility to inspect or decode it. This is necessary because the product is built around clipboard-first decoding.
The decoding and classification work is performed locally on the Mac. Clipboard contents are not sent to Prevolut as part of the normal decode workflow. You remain responsible for deciding what you place on your clipboard and what you choose to copy out of the app.
Because clipboard contents can contain passwords, tokens, personal information, source code, or other sensitive material, you should treat your clipboard as sensitive data regardless of whether Unhexify is installed.
Network access and third parties
Unhexify does not need a server-side decoding service for its core functionality. We do not receive the clipboard value merely because you decoded it.
If you obtain Unhexify through a third-party distribution platform, that platform may process information about your device, account, download, purchase, or software installation under its own privacy policy. We do not control that processing.
Unhexify may also rely on operating-system services provided by Apple. Those services are governed by Apple's own terms and privacy documentation.
What happens on prevolut.uk
The website is separate from the local decoding performed by Unhexify. When you visit it, normal web infrastructure may process technical information such as an IP address, browser and operating-system information, requested pages, timestamps, and security-related request data.
Prevolut may use Cloudflare services for website security, delivery, and privacy-oriented analytics. These providers process technical information according to their own terms and privacy policies. The Unhexify app does not need this website analytics data to perform a decode.
We do not use the Unhexify product page to collect clipboard contents from your Mac.
If you contact Prevolut
If you email us or otherwise contact us, we will receive the information you choose to provide, which may include your name, email address, message, attachments, and other contact details.
We use that information to respond to you, provide support, handle legal or security matters, and maintain a record of correspondence where reasonably necessary. We do not sell contact information.
How long information is kept
We retain correspondence and other personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including resolving enquiries, maintaining business records, complying with legal obligations, and establishing or defending legal claims.
Local clipboard contents are under your control. Prevolut does not retain clipboard contents as part of Unhexify's normal decoding workflow.
Your rights under UK data protection law
Where UK GDPR applies, you may have rights including access to personal data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, restriction of processing, objection to certain processing, and data portability. Some rights are subject to legal conditions and exemptions.
If you believe we have handled your personal data unlawfully, you may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). We encourage you to contact us first so that we can understand and address the issue.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our products, website, suppliers, or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top of this page will change when the policy is revised.
